TRAX MAGAZINE’s 18th BIRTHDAY

TRAX is an independent French electronic music and youth culture magazine, created in Paris in 1997. It has been the leading publication about those cultures in France ever since.

The magazine became notable for commissioning covers by artists including Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Air, Cassius, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Laurent Garnier while its new talent section was renowned for profiling future stars at an early date.

Trax disassembles electronic music making it accessible to a demanding public: interviews, musical news, current personality’s favourite music (DJ’s, designer…), portraits, fashion, photo, performances or parties’ reports, novelties to buy, etc. The magazine broadens its horizons to other cultural trends in the context of music: graphic arts, fashion, pictures, numerical arts, cinema, and literature.

TRAX was awarded Best Magazine at the House Music Awards in 2005.

In 2015, TRAX also retains a status as one of the Internet’s most popular electronic music publications. This was down in no short part to TRAX’s mix series, where each week an artist contributed an exclusive mix to download from the website.
