Barbarella’s is located on the sea front and is just a short bus ride away from the main festival site. This open air club setting will provide the platform for Soundwave’s liveliest after hour . Transfers will be arranged by us to ensure you can easily get there for a bit of late night revelry before the buses or taxi boats whisk you back to Tisno. The after parties will take place on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday – full line ups below!!

THURSDAY 18TH

The first night see’s the formidable DJ Yoda headline. One of Britain’s most admired and original DJs. Admired for his originality as well as his sense of fun, he is possibly the only DJ in the world who can fill a club cutting George Formby with Jurassic 5, or 80′s pop with New York rap. Tipped by Q Magazine as one of “The 10 DJs you must see before you die”, and voted alongside DJ Premier as “One of the Top Three DJs in the World” in Hip Hop Connection magazine, DJ Yoda is no ordinary scratch DJ. DJ BobaFatt, Rich Reason and Bedmo Disco will also be on board for this late night affair, each DJ placing an emphasis on party vibes and mind-blowing turntabalism. Its the first night of Soundwave Croatia, why would you miss out on an after party celebration on the beach as the sun rises??

Hoya: Hoya is one of the best club nights there is, ask anyone who has played or been and they will tell you the same. The likes of Four Tet, Hudson Mohawke, Dabrye, Loefah & Gaslamp Killer have all showed up to play this intimate 300 capacity night… It’s the residents that make the night though; started by Illum Sphere and Jonny Dub, Hoya has built a movement around a super group of Manchester electronic producers and DJ’s – they don’t even need to announce the full line ups & guests every month, people will turn up regardless! Attracting a crowd so energetic, knowledgeable and smiley, all who enter will be made to move. Eliphino (who has released on the Hoya:Hoya label), Illum Sphere, Jonny Dub & Jon K will be leading the way until 6am… If Hoya standards are anything to go by the night will be jam packed full of surprises and good time vibes. Not to be missed!

If you enjoy dancing your mits off then Saturday night at the open air Barbarella nightclub is the place to be. It’s set to be mayhem; featuring a concoction of party DJ’s playing the best of Funk, Soul, Hip Hop and everything in-between you really will have no excuse other than to show up and dance like mad. Craig Charles headlines the night… He acquired cult status as Dave Lister on BBC 2′s hugely popular Red Dwarf and has appeared in a myriad of other shows as an actor or presenter, including cult classics Takeshi’s Castle and Robot Wars. He presents the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show for BBC 6Music where he explores the past present and future of the genres. His boat party sold out ridiculously quickly – we’re expecting his after party to do the same… so get going! Mr Thing also knows a thing or two about what constitutes a good funk record and most certainly knows how to put two records together. Former DMC champion and master of mayhem – Mr Thing is sure to cause a frenzy. Dom Servini (Wah Wah 45s), Gilla (First Word) & Mikey J (Tuesday Club) round off a jam packed evening at Barbarella’s.

Soundcrash have a pretty big role to play behind the scenes at Soundwave Croatia so its only right they put on something special at Barbarella’s this year. A super huge line up featuring an incredible secret guest, Tempo Clash residents Kutmah & Om Unit , Solid Steel Audio visualist DJ Cheeba, Tom Central & Cosmo Lopez, as well as one of the best party starters in the business – DJ Boba Fatt.
Kutmah is one of the forefathers of the beats movement in Los Angeles, his acclaimed Sketchbook radio nights broadcasted the earliest efforts of Flying Lotus and The Gaslamp Killer (among many others). One of the most respected DJ’s on the planet, expect him to tear the place down during his only appearance at Barbarella’s. Om Unit has quickly become one of electronic music’s most pioneering & unique front-runners. Ahead lies tracks for Metalheadz, more collaborations, an extensive worldwide tour schedule, and his debut album scheduled for mid 2013 with Civil Music. DJ Cheeba is the sight and sound of Solid Steel’s new school. Hailed as one of the most progressive audio visual artists around today, Cheeba has found an audience world wide with his unique style of turntablism and video manipulation. The secret special guest will be announced & will be a fellow worth taking the risk to see!!

The last night at Barbarella’s is a family affair, it’s the big final send off before everyone goes their separate ways. We’ve no intention of leaving without the craziest of nights as the music blasts out way into sun ruse. We’ve invited former DMC World Champion Mr Thing to lay the foundations as he promises to tear through & manipulate as many party bangers into the space of 2 hours as possible! Expect slices of Hip Hop, Funk, Soul & mind-bending mash-ups. One of 2013′s most exciting beat-makers, Tall Black Guy, joins the party. From humble origins in Detroit, raised on a healthy diet of Motown, Jazz, and Early Hip‐Hop he’s ceratainly come into his own after his most recent First Word release. Being championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson (who included him on the latest Brownswood Bubblers 7 album), Lefto, Anthony Valadez, and countless others, TBG is a name worth catching at the grand finale. Soundwave very much encapsulates family spirit, so what better way to end things than with sets from Soundwave’s very own residents team (and festival organisers). We wouldn’t be surprised if things got a little crazy – but that’s what festival after parties are for right??
